What is Love on your Mind?
Love on your Mind is a Mental Health Awareness celebratory brunch meant to inform, uplift and inspire. There will be speakers, musical performances, and mental health support resources. We want to create a safe space and stop the stigma that makes it hard for people to open up and seek help while also having a good time.

*Introducing Cynthia: Wings By The Sea*
Cynthia was born in La Plata, MD on February 6, 1964 and raised in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. She has always had a passion for dancing and was a dancer in elementary school, high school and college. She accepted God’s calling for a dance ministry in 2003, after the death of her only brother. She wanted to honor him in a special way with a dance. In fact, they often danced side-by-side. She says, “When God prompted me to dance at his repass, it made me smile with joy. I knew my brother loved the song “Be Grateful” by Tramaine Hawkins so I choreographed a dance and taught it to my daughter who was 15 years old at the time. We danced together in honor of my brother. The memorial praise dance had a profound effect on me. I felt the Spirit come over me and I knew that I had a gift that I must share.”
In May 2011, Cynthia moved to Whitakers, North Carolina and became a member of the Ray of Hope Christian Center. On her first day attending, the announcements included a call for a Director of the praise dance ministry that the church wanted to begin. All who were interested in joining that ministry were asked to stay after the service for a meeting. She attended the meeting and although her intention was not to direct the ministry, she became the director without any effort. “I know God orchestrated that.” That ministry consisted of 15 praise dancers whose ages ranged from 7 to 55. She had a blessed two years as the director of the “Wings of Praise” dance ministry.
taken her ministry to several assisted living facilities to uplift the elderly and disabled. “I feel inspired when I put smiles on the faces of these residents. I have a strong desire to continue to grow and share what I have learned. Teaching is another direction God is pulling me toward. As I focus on my spiritual walk, I will make myself available to be used as a vessel for His praise wherever God leads me. Through this calling, God has placed a special desire in me to minister to His children with low self-esteem, isolation and depression issues.”
Cynthia is now a member of First Unity Spiritual Campus. She started dancing at Unity about 7 years ago when she was asked to worship.
“That’s when my whole dance career took off. I am so excited to express my true feelings and emotion in dance at Unity with the Voices. I am so inspired by dancing with freestyle movement with expression. To God Be the Glory!”
