What is Spirit Expressing?

Spirit Expressing is a seven-week, community wide study of a book, including Sunday Messages, Home study groups and Special events.  Designed to enhance the spiritual growth of our community, individually and collectively.  We commit to raising our conscious awareness and sensitivity to the inner work of spiritual and personal growth.  We aim to explore our understanding of what our personal relationship is to God the Creator and how that manifests every day in our lives.  This year we will focus on the symbol of a ‘key’ to remind us that we do indeed have the key to life, love and all our grandest wishers.  Remember, as one wisely said, “The door was never locked”. 

What is “Ask and It Is Given” about?

The book is written in two parts. Rev. Dr. Temple Hayes will discuss three chapters each Sunday (See Calendar of Events).

Part I: Things that you know, which you may have forgotten and are important for you to remember. To quote Wayne Dyer, “The message here is quite startling and yet oh-so-simple: you come from a Source of love and well-being. When you’re matched up to that energy of peace and love, you then regain the power of your Source, that being the power to manifest your desires, to summon well-being, to attract abundance where scarcity previously resided, and to access Divine guidance in the form of the right people and precisely correct circumstances. This is what your Source does, and since you emanated from that Source, you can and will do the same.”Part II: Processes to help you achieve what you now remember, and to recognize, apply and practice what you have learned and/or remembered.  The Hick’s refer to this as the “Art of Allowing”.

Is the book necessary to participate?

First Unity Spiritual Campus has created a companion workbook as support material during our Spirit Expressing program. Other support materials will be available during the 7 week progam at your book study group and downloadable from our website. The book is very inspiring but not required. You may find a copy available at your public library, bookstores or online used and new.

What are Home Study Groups?

Home study groups (8-10people) offer the opportunity for a more in-depth study of the book.  This year for the first time we will offer ZOOM study groups for our worldwide community to participate with our on campus community. The groups will follow the chapters taught by Rev. Dr. Temple on the previous Sunday.  Our groups provide a safe space and loving environment in which to explore and practice God’s activity on a personal level.  The intention is that we all emerge refreshed and inspired about what we learn about God, ourselves and our fellow travelers on this journey we call ‘LIFE’. Home study / ZOOM groups will receive course guides to enhance the experience. To sign up for a group email admin@firstunity.org

Chakra Connection

As part of our tradition, we will be dressing the Sanctuary in the Chakra Color of each week of study, beginning with the lowest vibrational color (red) to the highest (violet/white). We invite you to visually raise your vibration by dressing yourself in these colors each week as well! See the listing of important dates or the calendar of events for each week’s colors.
